Highlighted for the second time in as many weeks in a longer article in the Hill Times Research
this time with interviews with NDP MP Heather McPherson and Liberal MP Pam Damoff.
In the article, MP McPherson called the CPMHC “one of the best examples of advocacy” she encountered.
“They were really incredible, they used different tools, they used experts within the medical community, they used social media very well. I think they could teach some much better funded and much more experienced advocates a thing or two, that’s for sure,” – NDP MP Heather McPherson
MP Pam Damoff told the Hill Times Research that it would be helpful to have a perinatal mental health strategy.
“I’ll continue to advocate on behalf of the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative but also constituents.” – Liberal MP Pam Damoff
The Hill Times Research reached out to MP Todd Doherty whom the CPMHC has also spoken with regarding perinatal mental health.
“As the weeks go on, we will have more to add regarding this important issue. Obviously, we support the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborativeand the work they are doing. In terms of policy specifics and initiatives, we will continue to consult with a variety of mental health organizations to identify gaps and determine where improvements need to be made.” – MP Todd Doherty office email statement.
The CPMHC is featured in its first Hill Times Research article.
“We just keep doing what we’ve been doing. We just keep fighting, we keep having meetings with MPs, we keep doing social media campaigns, we keep working behind the scenes, in front of the scenes, just elevating the national consciousness and the national conversation around understanding the importance of perinatal mental health,” – CPMHC Co-Founder Patricia Tomasi told the Hill Times Research
