Tara Johanna Manninen
Graphic Designer
Tara Johanna Manninen moved to Saskatchewan in 2012 with her husband from Ontario, where she earned her human resources management diploma at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She then attended an accelerated program in graphic design at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2017, and started donating her skills in graphic design to various charities. However, during the pandemic she worked at a seniors’ home as a recreation coordinator, helping seniors stay engaged during the long months of isolation.
After the birth of her daughter in 2021, and her experiences pre and post pregnancy, she has felt the need to ensure other women get the support they need during one of the most challenging times in their lives. This led her to learning about CPMHC through volunteering on a maternal mental health committee in Moose Jaw. Wanting to be a creative asset to them, she reached out when they posted a call for volunteers.
Life is busy now with a toddler and launching her business full-time in April 2023 when she finished her maternity leave. Becoming an entrepreneur has opened many avenues for Tara to use her creative and technical skills in design and social media marketing to help organizations, large and small, to reach their audiences. Her work has encompassed many industries, across Canada and internationally. She isn’t afraid of going the distance for her clients, including teaching social media and design skills in the far Canadian Arctic. She believes saying “yes!” to new and challenging opportunities when it comes to being creative and sharing her skills with others.
Tara’s empathetic and open personality shows itself in her designs and relationships with clients. She believes great design starts with having a good conversation – about who the client is, their organization and where they see themselves using different types of creative assets.
