May 2021:
On World Maternal Mental Health Day, May 5th, 2021, CPMHC partnered with the Ludmer Centre from Montreal, PQ to host Strategic Approaches to Perinatal Mental Health Care in Canada. The conference features a number of keynote speakers including MPP Bhutila Karpoche who introduced Bill 176 calling for a maternal mental health action plan, and MP Heather McPherson who introduced a Motion to the House of Commons which was unanimously agreed to calling to recognize the first Wednesday in May as World Maternal Mental Health Day as well as a unanimous agreement that Canada needs a National Perinatal Mental Health Strategy.
